Dipaksa Lepas Hijab di Bandara Italia, Video Rekaman Wartawan Ini Jadi Perdebatan Netizen Indonesia

TRIBUNSTYLE.COM - Islamophobia adalah ketakutan terhadap segala sesuatu tentang Islam.

Belakangan hal terkait Islamophobia kerap terjadi di berbagai belahan dunia.

Tak jarang orang-orang muslim yang terlihat mengenakan atribut Islam kerap mendapat perlakuan kurang mengenakkan saat berada di tempat-tempat tertentu.

Sebelumnya di Amerika, sepasang muslim mendapat intimidasi lantaran si wanita terlihat mengenakan hijab saat naik subway di sebuah kereta di Amerika Serikat.

Untungnya ada seorang wanita yang membela saat pasangan tersebut diintimidasi untuk keluar dari kereta.

Kini kejadian serupa menimpa seorang mahasiswi asal Indonesia saat ia berada di bandara Italia.

Aghnia Adzkia, mendapat perlakuan tak menyenangkan saat ia berada di Bandara Ciampino Roma, Italia.

Aghnia saat ini sedang menempuh studi master Digital Journalism di Goldsmiths, University of London.

Saat itu, ia hendak mengambil penerbangan kembali ke London usai berlibur lima hari di Italia, Minggu (9/4).

Ia memang seorang wanita muslim yang mengenakan hijab.

Saat di Bandara, ia diminta untuk melepas hijabnya demi proses pengecekan keamanan bandara.

Ia pun sempat beradu argumen dengan petugas bandara.

Aghnia pun membagikan video bagaimana kejadian tersebut terjadi melalui media sosial Facebook, Twitter dan Instagram.

Perdebatan pun terjadi di kolom komentar akun Instagram miliknya.

"I AM A MUSLIM HIJABI, NOT A TERRORIST!

I was shocked to witness how Italian airport security officers in Roma Ciampino have treated me indecently, asking me to take my hijab off for security checking as I was getting ready to take a flight to London on SUNDAY.

“Why should I take off my hijab?” I asked.

They replied it was for the security reasons.

However, I wasn’t prepared to trust them unless they gave could cite me a law or provide me with a legal document that proved paper saying they were authorised to have to check what is underneath of my hijab.

To make it clear, they asked me to follow one lady to a private room to checking my hijab.

But for me, this is not just about whether I want to show my head/hair or not (albeit in front of a lady).

This is beyond that: it is a matter of human dignity and rights.

For what reason were they asked me to take off my hijab?

I have argued with a female security lady officer about the law and she showed me a letter in Italian in which I did not understand.

Instead of translating the letter for me, she continued to insist I went to a room for checking.

I asked the security officer to give the letter to my Italian friend to translate it to me, because I trusted her.

The officer refused and then asked her colleague to drag me out of security.

I didn’t even have one minute to call my friend to ask her to translate the letter.

A male security officer dragged me out of the security checking area in an indecent way (he took my bag without asking my permission and shouted at me to be quiet).

I tried to negotiate again with them about the legality of the check but the lady just shouted to me, “I’ve shown you, if you do not know Italian language…You can’t touch me, You are not safe.

You could hide something in your hair.

If you don’t take it off, we do not know if there’s something inside, okay? You are not safe for us.” The way they treated me has shown that they do not respect a Muslim female wearing the hijab.

Beberapa netizen menganggap bahwa seharusnya Aghnia harus menerima prosedur tersebut dengan melepas hijabnya.

Sementara ada netizen yang menganggap tindakan pengamanan tersebut terlalu berlebihan karena tanpa harus melepas hijab, pemeriksaan bisa dilakukan melalui metal detector.

nadiyaumairah, "Mereka punya kebijakan dan mereka hanya menjalankan tugas. Jika diharuskan lepas hijab utk alasan keamanan, lepas hijabnya di private room ama petugas wanita juga. Biar mereka percaya kalo ga ada yang patut di curigai."

andhdp, "For everyone that doesn't share the same thought with her in this case, IF it's because of security reason to take off the hijab and afraid what could be in it then it is not even safe to wear clothes at all? AND they must have a what we called "metal detector" and if there was no danger alarm coming out then why did they still want to take off her hijab, and if it IS really a goverment rules then why not all of the airport in Italy do the same as the one they did in the airport that she was in.
