Ia adalah seorang artis rekaman dan produser rekaman asal Amerika.

Dibesarkan di Fayetteville, North Carolina, Cole awalnya mendapat pengakuan sebagai seorang rapper setelah merilis mixtape debutnya, "The Come Up," pada awal tahun 2007.

Bermaksud lanjut mengejar karir solo sebagai rapper, ia merilis dua mixtapes tambahan setelah menandatangani kerjasama dengan Jay Z di tahun 2009.
