Acara bergengsi ini akan dilangsungkan di Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles, California, Amerika Serikat.

Tahun ini, MTV Movie & TV Awards 2021 akan dibagi menjadi dua katergori besar.

Dua katergori tersebut adalah Scripted dan Unscripted.

Kategori Scripted akan diumumkan pada hari pertama.

Sementara itu kategori Unscripted akan dibacakan di hari kedua.
